CAN WE JUST TALK ABOUT HOW FUCKING STUNNING THIS EPISODE WAS
YES YES YES! OMG. FAVORITE FOREVER. And not just the scenery, but it is like…CLASSIC X-FILES + SHIPPINESS ALL ROLLED INTO ONE, WHICH MAKES IT ONE OF THE GREATEST EPS EVER. Basically, this episode is FLAWLESS.
THIS EPISODE ACTUALLY REPRESENTS EVERYTHING I LOVE AND MISS ABOUT THE X-FILES. It’s funny, shippy, legitimately creepy (but look how prettyyyyy!)….classic Mulder and Scully teamwork like WHO EVEN NEEDS YOUR TEAMBUILDING SEMINAR. Ugh I just love it so much.
YES. EXACTLY. I mean, if I had to pick one episode to represent X-Files as a show, as a whole, I would pick Detour every single time. AND OMG. THE PARTNERSHIP. It’s like, you don’t even have to love the shippiness to appreciate their relationship in this episode because they put the team building seminar TO SHAME, and it’s hilarious and basically epic at the same time!
YES TO EVERYTHING ABOVE. Every single time someone asks me what X Files episode to watch to get a sense of the show i say Detour. I’ve probably watched this episode the most times to be honest, it’s just completely perfect. I mean come on, Mulder and Scully lost in the woods with creepy-as-fuck invisible monsters targeting them? IT DOESN’T GET MORE CLASSIC THAN THIS, MY FRIENDS.
